Finishing The Course

Have you ever had a dream that seemed so spectacular, but you doubted it could ever happen in real life? Well, you are not alone. For years, I'd been a homemaker with a web and graphics design business that I lost interest in. True, it was a great gig, but I wasn't passionate about it. Then one night, while I was up late updating, upgrading, and managing websites, a Full Sail University (FSU) commercial came on... AND, it was about the Music Production program! It was fate!

At that time, I was 45 years old and settled into my career, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was missing the mark for what I should be doing – writing, composing, and producing music. I quickly enrolled at FSU, and I haven't skipped a beat. The Music Production program is based on real-world scenarios with looming deadlines and high expectations. There were times that I thought my head was going to explode, but I stayed with it, I worked hard, and I studied late. After two years of soaking up indispensable information, this August, I'll be attending my graduation and walking with honors!

My message to you is – if you want better, go after it. Educate yourself so that you have a solid foundation to flourish organically. Get around like-minded people who aren't afraid to fail, but rather, are afraid of complacency. They may be your cheerleader, as well as mentor. If I can do it, you can do it. Just finish the course!
